Philadelphia Destination Wedding | The Downtown Club

The Downtown Club | Philadelphia, PA Weddings

Shannon + Josh | 5.22.10

What is it about historic architecture and beautiful people in formal wear that just beckons to be photographed together? Theresa and I had an amazing time traveling to Philly for Shannon + Josh's wedding at the Downtown Club and Independence Park. We were lucky to meet them back when we were living in Monterey, CA and we knew right away that relaxed, fun people = a relaxed and fun wedding. Thank you again for having us. Now take a look at a few of our favorites:

Philadelphia Wedding Photography | Scouting Days

Theresa and I just returned from our Philadelphia adventure this past weekend to photograph another amazing wedding. Thank you Shannon and Josh for having us!! It was a blast to put it mildly. We were able to get a flair for another great, historic city (besides Boston) and we were lucky to be blessed with beautiful, dramatic light the entire time we were there. Here's quite a few shots we like from our pre-wedding day scouting (click on the link to check them out):

We'll post our favorites from the wedding in the next couple days so check back.

Any favorites?? Leave us a comment - we'd love to hear it...

Boston Brain Tumor Ride 2010

Yesterday was the 16th Annual Boston Brain Tumor Ride, an amazing event put together by the National Brain Tumor Society to raise awareness and to build a greater sense of community about the issue of brain tumor's. So many have been affected by brain tumors, or have known someone who has a tumor or have lost a loved one to a brain tumor. And yet, these strong people showed up yesterday to do the 10, 25 or 50 mile bike ride in someone's memory.

I heard about the event on NPR, of course, and thought what a good opportunity it would be to volunteer our photography services. This issue is so relevant and personal to us and I was glad to be a very small part of the day. You may or not know I lost my father to a brain tumor in 2001, and my mother developed a brain tumor a few years ago which is now in remission thanks to the routine chemotherapy she undergoes every 6 weeks or so. Theresa also lost her mother to cancer and we are both thankful to organizations like the Brain Tumor Society that fight to help find a cure. It was truly amazing to hear people's stories yesterday, and in the face of real tragedy, see the hope that still remained.

G+M Photography featured on Floral Design Website

We gave some images to a floral designer we worked with last year and it was great to see our wedding was one of a handful they decided to feature on their newly designed website. Thanks to Precious and Blooming Floral Design for putting together beautiful arrangements and choosing the images we created to show them off. If you are looking for a Floral Designer in the San Francisco Bay area check them out. Here's a link to their site:

Boston Engagement Session | Sara + Rick

Why an engagement shoot? Many people ask and it's a valid question. But one reason is certainly that no one is used to being in front of the camera. Not even us. It's such a great way to see our style of working with you so that on your wedding day you'll be a real pro. Not to mention they're fun and we get awesome photos!! Take a look at our favorites from Sara + Rick's shoot a week or so ago. It was their idea to go back to the area where they had their first date: the Museum of Fine Arts. We love to make the shoot more personal to our clients and the MFA makes for a perfect backdrop for the shoot. Now take a look:

And just for fun - you have to throw some silly in there.
