Got this email a while back for The Look Fabulous Tour - Fashion Flair for Portraits and Weddings. It was a seminar and masterclass with two amazing photographers, Lou Freeman and Lindsay Adler.  Both have done fashion, editorial, advertising work with big name clients and celebrities alike.  So Theresa and I thought we would step outside our primarily wedding box and take the masterclass, learn some cool lighting techniques, work with a few models and hear what two amazing photographers had to say and hopefully apply some of it to the work we are doing and the work we want to do.  If you don't recognize Lou or Lindsay's names then check out the links below to their work:

One of our great clients, the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, recently asked me to photograph another cover for their alumni magazine. This cover and story featured one of their recent alumni who also was in the service so we wanted to show off her medical background but also her time in the Army. Location portraits are always a fun challenge to photograph, whether it's around Boston or anywhere here in New England, and thankfully the Sunday in April wasn't too cold out. Meg was super easy to work with, as you can see below, and I have to again thank her fiance (now husband I'm pretty sure) Joel for helping me out and working in the wind.  Take a look at a few of the favorites:

Boston Brain Tumor Ride 2013, National Brain Tumor Society | Boston Event Photographers

This is one of our favorite events to photograph in the Boston area every year.  The Boston Brain Tumor Ride.  Pretty sure this year is the 19th year in a row, which is pretty impressive, not to mention all the money the riders, volunteers, families and friends have raised over those 19 years.  But we think even more impressive are the people that come out every year, devoted to raising awareness and actually trying to do something about such a widespread and complex disease.  Most of you know might know that both of my parents (Randall talking here) had brain tumor's so it's especially a topic that is close to me.  It's really inspiring to see everyone out there, supporting each other, cheering each other on. In the immediate, it's about a fun day and community and awareness.  Anyone affected by brain tumors knows in the long term it's about keeping the hope alive. We lucked out with how awesome Jillian and Rob are.  Super relaxed and easy-going. We're only saying this because we woke up to crazy rain storms on their wedding day.  They picked The Inn and Spa at Mill Falls for the backdrop of their day, right on the water, but unfortunately didn't get a chance to take advantage of it.  It was pouring and we mean run to your car and you're still drenched pouring. We always try and entice people outside if it's sprinkling, or we bring umbrellas, but not on this day (did get our killer rain shot though - see below). We found some spots in the church, around the venue but Jillian and Rob weren't worried, they were too into each other and having a great time.
