B2B (Bride 2 Bride) | Jess

In thinking about what we wanted our blog to become, Theresa and I decided we wanted it to be more than the usual here is more images type of posts. Of course showing new work is important, but we didn't want it to end there. We want our blog to be a place for ideas as well, ideas about what you want your wedding to be like, the flowers, the dress, place settings, venues, and all the difficult decisions you have to make in the planning process. So here is our first Bride 2 Bride (or B2B) installment, real advice from someone who has been there, and researched and weighed the pros and cons of all the decisions. We are hoping all our brides in the future will want to participate and shed some light on different aspects of the planning process, or the day itself that will help someone else trying to make their wedding as beautiful as it can be.

"One of the hardest things for me and my fiancĂ© to do was to pick the site where we were getting married. We must have looked at over 20 places! Like most brides to be, I was constrained by finances but lucky enough to have some help. So, my advice would be to really decide what is most important to you and your fiancĂ©! For us it was having the people we loved there with us, in a setting that fit our “style” and once you have weighed your options then book it! And then keep booking! The earlier the better because the little details have a way of multiplying and the sooner you can check something off your list, the sooner you can move onto the next thing. Then, once it’s all in place, I got some great advice from many people that pretty much was of the same vein… take a moment—or two if you can spare it at your ceremony or reception---and step back with your husband and just look around you…look around at all the amazing friends and family who are surrounding the two of you, who have traveled from near and far to share this special occasion with you both and support and love you. It’s an amazing feeling and even if all the little details don’t fall into place (because they won’t) it doesn’t matter. Step back and soak it up!"
