Boston Wedding Photography | Tough Decisions

“The photographer you entrust with preserving those memories plays one of the most important roles in your wedding. As the years pass, what will remain of your wedding are your photographs, and you will eventually rely on them to remember the event and to share it with your children and grandchildren."

I have always loved this quote from the first time I read it. For me, one of the greatest things about photography is how looking at an image instantly takes me back to the time and the place when the image was made. It's easier to recollect the events surrounding the photograph, and to feel what you felt. And it's that ability of a good photograph to bring us back to emotions we felt that is so powerful. I came across an interesting blog post by a wedding photographer in Southern California, who wrote about the tough decision about sacrificing quality for price when it comes to your photographer. You may want to save a few $$ but be sure you find someone who's work you love, who is a professional, and who can deliver the type of imagery you are looking for. It's those images that you will have to remember the day when you and your love said 'I do'. Here's the link to his blog post. And this is a very interesting article he links to that was featured in a Seattle Bride Magazine. The Magazine sent out an amateur photographer to try to cover a wedding alongside a professional, and shows you the unfortunate results. Take a read here.

Happy Wednesday.
