Tree Hunting Adventure | Hopestill Farm, Sherborn

Tree Hunting Adventure  |  Hopestill Farm, Sherborn, MA

Growing up in CA, Theresa and her family always used to go out to a tree farm and find the perfect tree and cut it themselves.  Kind of like that scene in Christmas Vacation but without the snow (they don't know snow in Sebastopol).  On the opposite end of the spectrum, growing up my family used to harvest our tree out of the attic and match up the appropriate branches with the spots on the pole.  Yes, slightly different traditions. Needless to say, we've taken up her family's method and always hunt down our perfect tree and cut it ourselves. It's a fun day out and helps to get us in the holiday spirit early.  Here's a few shots I made from the day (click on any of them to see a larger view):

I may have been distracted from the hunt because of all the cool looking birch trees.
Nothing caps off a day off like sugar cookies! Oh yeah.
Yes that is Theresa decorating with a tooth pick, extreme detail.
They were almost too good looking to eat, almost....
I also decorated some, but I decided to go with a more R-rated theme so probably not appropriate to post here.  They tasted just as good.
