Fun Friday | Kitchen Renovations

Haven't done a Fun Friday post for a while, so if you're looking for something photography related go ahead and skip right over this one :) No hard feelings, I promise. This project is a good 5 years in the making and I'm so psyched right now to be renovating the kitchen and dining space in my house. I joke with everyone I could probably wait and maybe the 80s orange countertops would come back in style but I can't hold out for that. Not going to happen. Here's the, more or less, before photos. Excuse the mess as I had already starting tearing things apart but the time I thought to take photos. General plan is new windows, new door, new floor, paint some color on the walls (see some choices I'm deciding between below), all new moldings, paint the cabinets, new lighting (some already installed), and them I'm planning on building a few custom pieces as well. We'll see how all that goes...wish me luck!! Happy Friday.

Fun Friday | Eastern State Penitentiary, Philadelpha

Haven't posted a Fun Friday for a while so I thought I would share this collection of images I made while visiting Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia. It's the oldest prison in the U.S. and it's much more haunting than the images can even convey. And if that's not enough they do a haunted house if you're ever in Philly in October...I think I'll pass on that one. Enjoy these just for fun and have a great weekend :)

Fun Friday | Backyard Fine Art

It's been a while since my last Fun Friday post and I'm super excited about these images. Maybe the most excited I've been about any personal fine art work in a while. One thing I personally struggle with is to see the beauty that surrounds my everyday life. I get caught in starting into a computer for hours mode, or running errands, or another one of my goals this year to get back into long distance running, or gym and the list goes on....So it's easier to plan a dedicated photo trip, an adventure somewhere I've never been or a place I love. To see something for the first time often has a more immediate sense of wonder to it. Yosemite, The Tetons, Big Sur, Acadia to name a few favorites. But it's always rewarding to look deeper and more closely at what we walk by each and every day. My backyard happens to be a State Park, and I am so grateful for it. It doesn't always present itself with a wealth of photographic opportunity but after the other night I think I need to simply look closer (and having a camera with me doesn't hurt). Fun Friday | Adventures of Luna

If you've been a frequent visitor to our blog over the last year you'll recognize this face. Our trusty Garnick Moore mascot, Luna, has made appearances many times since we were lucky enough to get her last March. It's been an amazing adventure to watch this cute, and often-times crazy, puppy grow (Theresa and I do refer to her pretty often as Luna-tic). Luna will actually be turning 1 tomorrow so here's a few recent images I made after the massive snow storm earlier in the week. Enjoy and have a great weekend! If you ski or snowboard, get out there...we don't get conditions like this in New England very often!

Adventures of Luna, update | Fun Friday

For this Fun Friday post, we thought we'd give you a little update on our fast growing Studio Mascot, Luna. It's been such a great adventure to see her grow from 7 weeks old to now just over 6 months. She's swimming in the lake, climbing on all the rocks in our yard and generally being a crazy puppy.
