Yosemite National Park photography, part I | Fun Friday

Yosemite National Park photography, part I | Fun Friday

So for this Fun Friday post we wanted to share a little sneak peak of our time in Yosemite National Park a few weeks ago. If you haven't been to Yosemite we highly recommend it. It's truly one of the most beautiful parks in the U.S. we've been lucky enough to visit. This time of year is really nice to avoid the crowds and we were blessed with a snow-storm two days before we arrived so all of Yosemite valley was blanketed in fresh powder. Enjoy and have a great weekend!

El Capitan from the valley floor.

Valley view by moonlight. Left the shutter open for 25 or 30 minutes on this one.

Moon rising perfectly over Half Dome.

The beauty in so many of these is in the details. Can't wait to finish the Yosemite book we're working on and then print some big!

See more Fun Friday posts.

Boston engagement photographers | Ava and Brian

Boston engagement photographers | Ava and Brian

We've said it before but one thing we try and do a little different with our engagement shoots is ask our clients to think of a location that has meaning to them. It could be a first date spot, the spot where they got engaged, a favorite hike or just a location in the city they love to hang out.  No matter the location, it's the significance it has to our clients that is going to make the images we create more significant years down the road. It shows off everyone's unique personality and it's a lot of fun for us to shoot in different places all the time.

Ava and Brian came up with the area around Ava's grandparent's cottage in Wareham, MA. We had never been there so we did a little research online to look for locations or things of interest. After coming up empty we figured we could make pretty much anything work so we weren't too worried. After arriving Ava and Brian showed us what they had in mind and the ideas just started to flow! Too many ideas, not enough time and they were up for anything so it couldn't have turned out better. Throw in a rowboat, some DIY Save the Date oars, a beautiful marsh, tall grasses, amazing light, clouds and a killer sunset = great success! Take a look at a few of our favorites:

Exchange Conference Center wedding, Boston wedding photographers | Melissa and Doug

Exchange Conference Center wedding, Boston wedding photographers | Melissa and Doug

One of our favorite, right on the water, Boston wedding venues, the Exchange Conference Center. Melissa and Doug enjoyed some perfect Fall weather, for the getting ready at the ECC, their first meeting, the ceremony at St. Catherine of Genoa and then back to the ECC for the reception. They are such a great pair, really perfect for each other and their connection really shows in the images.  Take a look at some of our favorites:
