It was exciting for us to be hired by the American Friends of Chartres to photograph a lecture at the Harvard Art Museum just this past Wednesday night. Patrice Calvel, who is the Architect in Chief of the Historic Monuments in France, led the lecture about past and current restoration projects at the cathedral of NĂ´tre-Dame de Chartres. It's hard to comprehend how much work and meticulous detail goes into the restoration of the stained glass at the cathedral, but the results are breath-taking. Now take a look:
I love this quick portrait Theresa made of Mr. Calvel.
A big thanks again to the American Friends of Chartres president Monika Riely for having us. Take a look at their website to see the good work they are doing.
